Pops: an ode to Black Fathers is a visual storytelling series that celebrates Black fathers from diverse backgrounds and their invaluable contributions to families and communities.
Black fatherhood is one of the most misrepresented stories in American culture. Too often, the dominant narrative centers absence. Pops is here to change that.
Created by Daniel Davis Edwards of Clear Pathworks, Pops: an ode to Black Fathers is a visual storytelling series that documents the full, rich, and varied reality of Black fathers — the coach, the caregiver, the creative, the quiet provider, the loud presence. Through film photography, we're building an archive of love.
