Poetry in Motion- one week away!

Hello! Erin here. :) I can't believe we're just one week away from Poetry in Motion- it could not have happened without and I'm so SO thankful for your generous contribution.

I've had a few sneak peeks of the pieces. All I have to say is WOW. In over a decade of producing dance, I have worked with very few artists as dedicated as these. Every single one of them has embraced the process, diving fully into the depths of their collaborative potential.

Just a few quick notes about when/ what to expect for the rewards:

If you gave at the Limerick Level ($25 or more):
One of your rewards is a custom, personalized poem by Papasquatch, inspired by your very own prompt. Please send your inspiration to me via email at enboyt@gmail.com. It may take up to a month to get through all of them, but I'll keep you posted on exactly when you can expect yours!

If you gave at the Sonnet Level ($50 or more):
One of your rewards is tickets to the show! If you're coming in person, your name will be on the will call list at the door. If you don't live in Portland or can't make it, you will get a professional recording of the performance as soon as it is edited. (This may also take about four weeks.)

If you have any questions at all, please reach out! Thank you again for your support.

Love,
Erin 💃🏻
Poets and dancers in Portland, OR team up to bring movement, life, and new perspectives to spoken word. Each dancer is paired up with a poet to design choreography specifically to their chosen poem and perform onstage together. (Yes, at the same time.) Every poem is a prompt for expression through movement, bringing you new ways of experiencing spoken word.

I'm Erin Boyt, dancer, choreographer, writer, and Artistic Director of Poetry in Motion. I produced dance and theater for over a decade before Covid hit, and I keep getting pulled back in by multidisciplinary work. The seed for Poetry in Motion was planted years ago, and germinated in my creativity until the gentle whisperings became too loud to ignore.

I believe:

- Collaborating across disciplines is what brings creative work alive
- Creativity is a source of healing. And in the world we live in, who doesn't need that?
- Dance and poetry play together in a way that builds community and inspires creativity.

Poetry in Motion is the result of my endless fascination with unlikely collaboration. I'm constantly asking "what happens if I put this and that together?" I hope you'll come with me on this ride and find out!
