PYDANCE is a Nashville-based dance theater ensemble creating original, thought-provoking dance productions that bridge the gap between concert dance and everyday audiences, enriching the local community through accessible, high-quality contemporary dance experiences. Founded and directed by Asia Pyron, PYDANCE directly benefits professional dancers in Nashville by providing paid performance opportunities, while also supporting pre-professional dancers through mentorship and development programs.

Since establishing the company in 2019, PYDANCE’s activities include more than ten performances a year, collaborations and partnerships with twenty organizations and businesses, more than fifty local dancers and artists hired, and hosting three educational programs for dancers of all levels. In a city that supports music and theater, dance is often overlooked and underfunded due to the lack of exposure and understanding of concert dance. PYDANCE’s mission connects dance to the masses, establishing better financial support for the local professionals that make up PYDANCE’s artistic team and awareness of the dance community as a whole. Named 'Best Dance Performance of 2024' by the Nashville Scene, PYDANCE continues to redefine the role of dance in contemporary society.
