Queer Mikveh Project offers community building, spiritual care and political education for the rapidly growing anti-zionist Jewish community. We are one of very few publicly anti-zionist Jewish organizations centering leadership of Black, Indigenous, Mizrahi, Sephardi, Jews of Color, transgender and non-binary Jews, Jews by Choice and Jews with disabilities. In this time of global awakening, we have seen smaller initiatives like ours, which focus on culture, art, education, mutual aid and healing, support the systemic transformation our activist ancestors dreamed of. This community fundraiser is essential to the continuation of Queer Mikveh Project in a climate of ever-increasing fascist repression.

We need your support to continue! Thank you for believing in us and the importance of our work!

What is Queer Mikveh Project?

Queer Mikveh Project is a land-honoring initiative activating mikveh, the ancient Jewish ritual practice of water immersion, for spiritual connection, cultural transformation, and the cultivation of beauty and joy. Water moves us towards freedom and Olam HaBa, the Jewish concept of the world to come, as we remember the power of our bodies as water and our own bodily autonomy.

We are part of the larger movement working to shift the tapestry of Jewish culture and practice beyond zionism and towards collective liberation for all. We welcome Jewish community and our friends into deeper solidarity with the people of Palestine and Indigenous peoples across the world.

Our Impact

QMP has been supporting the Jewish queer anti-zionist community in impactful ways for almost 10 years! This past year, our educational programming addressed greenwashing, pinkwashing, Jewish Solidarity with Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island and Palestine, and Christian Zionism. We began our monthly Full Moon Mikvaot - a community-building and spiritual resource for anti-zionist queer and trans Jews committed to Palestinian solidarity. We supported our community in developing mutual aid practices. The QMP community sent over $15k to our community partner projects in Palestine.

With your support we will:

“The Queer Mikveh Project retreat was beneficial to my spiritual growth and healing. I move through the world witnessing a lot of violence towards people I love. This retreat gave me a recalibration of my resilience.”

"I have never experienced mikveh before, and the ease of the space allowed me to access a raw place and feel connected to something greater than myself.”

“This year after October 7 was quite hard, especially as a Jew who doesn't have much connection to Jewish community except for family. So I think I really needed to be in a Jewish space to process the emotions on the on-going genocide in Palestine, rising antisemitism and war climate in the middle east... It felt empowering and soothing to be at the queer mikveh."
