Sacred Circle invites you to join us to build our ensemble of performers for our upcoming devised theatre piece about queer memory!

WHO WE ARE
Sacred Circle founded in 2016 as a queer/trans/feminist theatre company based in Bushwick, Brooklyn. We have produced traditional theatre, festivals, immersive shows, performance parties, and more throughout Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan, most recently presenting Living Tarot in a Covid-safe outdoor venue in Bushwick.

We create theatre that is physical, relevant, and powered by the diverse artistry of the queer community. Everything we do begins as the movement of bodies together in space in order to create the queer/trans community we crave.

OUR 2022 MAINSTAGE PRODUCTION
For our 2022 mainstage, we are tempting something great: a currently untitled queer memory project.

This performance will explore the ways that queer identity and experience is remembered, both through our shared experience in history and our personal experiences in memoir. Working intimately together in the rehearsal studio, the performers will create everything as an ensemble, from discovering the concept of the show to writing the text to creating movement together.

This performance will mark our return to indoor theatre post-pandemic. Happening at performance gallery 17Frost in Brooklyn this November, we have begun coming together to build our devising ensemble. And we want you to build it with us!

BE AN ENSEMBLE BUILDER!
An ensemble is so much more than the group of people in a play. It is the unique communion created between performers as they tempt something larger than themselves. It is a whole greater than the sum of its parts.

When tasked with creating everything together, an ensemble becomes the ultimate expression of collaboration and community care. And for Sacred Circle, our ensemble responds to the existential need we have for queer community, offering us a space to imagine a world better than the one we inherit.

We invite you to build our ensemble with us! With any size donation, you stand with Sacred Circle and our mission to give queer/trans artists the space to create together. Once our community helps us reach our budget goal, Sacred Circle splits all profits with the artists in the ensemble.

With a tax-deductible contribution, you become one of Sacred Circle's ensemble-builders!
With $10, you have given the ensemble an hour of rehearsal time.
WIth $40, you have given the ensemble a full rehearsal.
With $75, you have provided half of the stipend we guarantee all performers before we split our profits
With $150, you have provided one performer with their stipend before we split profits

Our queer/trans ensemble is made up of artists from different backgrounds, experiences, and worldviews. It is this communion within difference that makes Sacred Circle the unique queer community it is.
