Closing out the year with Savor!Dear Friends of Savor, We have so many exciting things to report as we close out the year! As we continue to work on the video portion of the project, we are delighted to share that we have an official release date! Savor music and videos will be made public starting on April 21st, 2023. Some of you have been asking about your perk fulfillments, and rest assured, we plan to send those out in February...stay tuned. In the meantime, we have officially started programming. Please join us virtually this Sunday, Dec 11th at 4pm ET/1pm PT for a Fiesta de Hanuká in partnership with the Sephardic Brotherhood of America! Come sing Ladino Hanuka songs with Sarah and cook pumpkin bimuelos with Susan! Free registration is here: tinyurl.com/FiestadeHanuka We’ll also be starting our in-person programming in January. If you are affiliated with a school or university, synagogue, community center or any organization that you believe would enjoy programs that dive deep into the nexus between Sephardic music, cuisine, culture and history, please be in touch! Speaking of Savor programming, there are still a few more spots for the very special Sephardic music and food cruise we are leading from Athens to Istanbul next May (with stops in Mykonos, Rhodes, Antalya, Bodrum and Ephesus). We hope you will consider joining us for this once-in-a-lifetime experience as we sing and cook (and eat!) our way across the Aegean. Space is limited, so book soon. All the information you need is here: savorexperience.com To end the year, we want to acknowledge and thank you for your wonderful support for the work of Savor and its chefs and musicians. We couldn’t have gotten Savor this far without you! In our final fundraising push for this year, our goal is to raise $25,000 for video and music post-production as well as programming and educational goals for 2023. Here are three ways that everyone can help support Savor as we move forward. We would be so grateful if you would share this with your family, friends and networks! Feel free to post on social media and send to your listservs, too. With our deep appreciation, mersi muncho! Sarah Aroeste and Susan Barocas savorexperience.com |

Savor Update #2Dear friends of Savor, We have been keeping busy the past few months! We are happy to announce that the music portion of Savor has been recorded, and it will soon enter the final stages of mastering. A big step! Now we are deep in the throes of editing all the chef videos and preparing the recipes so that you will be able to try the dishes on your own! There are still a many moving parts, and as such, we’ve had to push out the release until after the (secular) new year. We’ll let you know the new release date soon. We continue to fundraise to help us get over the finish line to be able to get this tasty project to you as soon as we can. Thank you again for your support this past year, and we wish you all a delicious year ahead. In that spirit, here’s a little taste of something to look forward to next year – a Savor -themed cruise with us! The official registration will be open at the end of the month, so stay tuned for that announcement soon! Feel free to mark your calendars in the meantime. ![]() Anyada buena i dulse...a good and sweet new year, Sarah Aroeste & Susan Barocas |
SaVOR Update #1Dear Friends of Savor, We want to thank you again for your support of Savor: A Sephardic Music & Food Experience! Because of your contributions, we are half way to our fundraising goal needed to make this project happen. The chefs are already busy filming their cooking videos using recipes inspired by the songs featured on the Savor music album, and that music is in pre-production now. Things are moving forward toward our November 11 release date. But we still need to raise the remaining half of our budget. ![]() Getting the buzz out has been a tremendous help already, and we hope we can count on you to continue to help us spread the word about this unique project! Please share Savor -- https://saraharoeste.com/savor -- with your circles of friends and networks including other music and food enthusiasts and people interested in enjoying and preserving Sephardic culture. Additionally, does your workplace match donations? Are you connected to any foundations or grant making organizations? If so, please do let us know. The next few months will be busy as Savor continues to take shape, and we can’t wait to offer you some tastes along the way! Stay tuned for more soon. With appreciation, Sarah Aroeste & Susan Barocas |
