SCOWL: Laddermageddon will be the second in a series of "Pay Per View," style events which utilize multimedia (Video packages and interviews) and live promos intended to build the drama, and inform backstory creating a sense of danger, rling the campy and over the top storytelling we expect from a long term professional wrestling show. Co-produced by The Tank.
SCOWL is a New York based stage combat oriented storytelling show with an emphasis on trans and queer performers. We are a queer, action-packed, live theatrical performance... with Steel chairs! We have performed using the SCOWL moniker in New York City, Cincinatti OH, and Detroit MI.
The goal of every SCOWL show is to help curate and strengthen the skills of stage combat-focused actors, pushing stage combat as its own art style using the frame of a fun and highly dramatic style of performance. In addition because SCOWL was created by and with the intention of highlighting trans and non-binary narratives (Which are rarely if ever) implimented in sports-based and combat-based storylines) SCOWL: Laddermageddon will continue to push against the misconceptions of and about transgender and non-binary people.
Supporting this project will mean giving us a change to do all of the above through the medium of live theatrical performance. Donations will make it possible for us to be able to compensate the artists working on the project with us along with purchasing items to make an exciting live theatrical experience!
Any rewards added to this campaign later will be retroactively gifted unless otherwise noted.
