What is the project exactly and what are the goals?
12 Months ago, in April of 2023, Lilac Co. with your help, did a theatre project in Burkina Faso, Theatre Laboratory, Ouahigouya, Yatenga Province, Burkina Faso—Lilac Co., April 2023
Ouahigouya, Yatenga Province, Burkina Faso, April 2023—New Water*Well Construction This project seeks to continue the work, returning to Burkina this spring— 2024— and continuing our labs with the kids and local artists, and in conjunction, build Water*Well, #2.
Lilac is returning, to be in residence in Burkina, by invitation of the Shrine-NYC and the Mafrika Music Society this April & May 2024. We need your support. Lilac is being given free housing, logistical support, and an access to the community in Burkina that would be simply impossible, were it not for the generous invitation and support given us by The Shrine, and by the Burkina community in New York City. Please support this project and help Lilac get-back-to-Burkina.
How Will The Monies Raised be used exactly?
Money raised will go directly to workers in Burkina to firstly, locate water, an often exhaustive engineering process that can take numerous sites, drilling in excess of 40 to 50 meters beneath the surface.

Water*Well*Theatre*Project #1 Secondly, the Well must-be-constructed, with materials purchased and transported from the capital city, Ouagadougou—and delivered—via-the-only-highway-possible—some 181km north to Ouahigouya. This process, as you can imagine, takes much planning and many steps. Your donations will help cover these costs. What you give will go directly to local artists doing work in the dirt, and on the street—daily with Lilac in Burkina. And lastly, your donation will be used to purchase the many parts of the solar*powered*well's architecture. Water*Well*Theatre*Project #1 Lilac Co., Ouahigouya Ville, Yatenga Province, Burkina Faso April 2023 There is a desperate need for water in Burkina. A region that is also facing huge displacements of populations, and is the very center of Jihadist terrorism in the world. This is Ouahigouya, in Yatenga, the birthplace and home of the founders of the Shrine in NYC, and Lilac Co.'s home now.
Who are we? And Who makes up the team?
The project team is led by Abdel Kader Ouedraogo and Idrissa Diarra, with Lilac director Sean Lewis, and local team members on the ground in Ouagadougou and Ouahigouya including, Sidiki Ouedraogo, Aziz Ouedraogo, Oumarou Tapsoba, Kassoum Ouedraogo, Yassia Ouedraogo, and Madi Ouedraogo. What is the project's impact?
