Logline: A couple's bathroom banter spirals into an unexpected emergency, forcing them to confront the fragility of their relationship.
A Note from the Writer: I’m interested in the feeling of closeness. What does it mean to feel close to another person? Under what circumstances do we feel close? When do physical proximity or distance facilitate this feeling and when do they repel us from each other?
SLICK is an embodiment of my curiosity with connection and intimate relationships. It questions the impact of compounded moments of missed connection on the strength of the relationship. It explores how quickly we cast each other in roles of “villain” and “victim” and the pace in which this oscillates.
This project speaks to the cyclical nature of intimate relationships. We are utilizing the expansive genre of horror to present a satire with femme narratives at the center. Our story has no finite “villain”; instead, the audience is left to question if what unfolds is an ‘oopsie’ or a crime.
