We are thrilled to announce the inaugural
Small Plates Choreography Festival in Duck, NC, a much-anticipated event set to bring captivating dance performances to the Outer Banks. This vibrant celebration of movement and creativity will take place on July 31, 2024, with two distinct performances scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the picturesque
Town of Duck Amphitheater.
This festival promises to be a landmark event, presenting an exciting showcase of dance works by artists of
Haven Movement Company,
DanceArtTheater, and
Baran Dance. Each program will be thoughtfully curated to appeal to a wide range of audiences, ensuring that everyone from seasoned dance enthusiasts to newcomers can enjoy the beauty and diversity of contemporary dance. Best of all, these performances are free and open to the public, making them accessible to everyone in the community.
Following each performance, audiences will have a unique opportunity to engage with the artists during an informal meet-and-greet. This interaction allows attendees to meet the artists behind the performances.
To bring this festival to life, we are launching a fundraising campaign to support the significant costs associated with hosting such an event. Funds raised will assist artists with their travel and accommodation expenses, offsetting their costs, which are substantial. In addition, the campaign will help provide meals and fair compensation for their incredible work and performances.
By supporting this campaign, you are not only contributing to the success of the festival but also fostering a vibrant arts community within the Outer Banks. We invite you to join us in celebrating and sustaining the art of dance by donating to our cause, attending the performances, and spreading the word about this exciting new festival. Together, we can make the Small Plates Choreography Festival an unforgettable event and an annual tradition, enriching the cultural landscape of the Outer Banks.
