A new Irish musical.
In 1995 Sophie returns to Cork after 5 years in New York City living the life of a struggling musician. Sophie's Uncle died and left her his small farm causing some uproar in the household. Sophie's sister Noreen is angry and feels passed over. Her Father is suspicious and her Mother is distant. On top of this Sophie's discovers her boyfriend has a secret and her best friend is resentful. The Irish economy is booming, people are insufferable and Riverdance has changed everything. Sophie has some decisions to make.
"Sophie catches her breath" is a new musical created, written and composed by songwriter/playwright Eamon O'Tuama. "Sophie" is the follow up to O'Tuama's first play, "Peace and Love in Brooklyn" which debuted at the Cell theatre in April 2024 as part of the Origin Theater 'First Irish" festival.
All funds raised will go towards future productions of "Sophie catches her breath"
