Our Mission
Spindive Dancefest's mission is to support Atlanta-based independent dance and performing artists in making and sharing work. Through the production of an informal concert, Spindive Dancefest seeks to cultivate connections within the dance community and bolster artistic growth by showcasing new, re-visioned, in-progress or finished works of dance and performance art.
What We Do
Spindive Dancefest is a dance concert presented in an informal space. Dance making as a professional career requires a public venue for artists to work towards, so that we engage in making work and come together to strengthen our dance community. For this reason, we accept any form of dance art without adjudication or competition, so that artists at multiple stages of their dance-making career and with a range of creative interests may join. We also primarily support individual artists who do not have access to non-profit grant funding.
This year we are excited to present Spindive Dancefest in the Westminster Room of Covenant Presbyterian Church in the Buckhead Neighborhood of Atlanta. On February 28, we will have two shows and programs at 2:00 and 7:30 pm.
Your Support Goes Toward:
- Paying Presenting Artists (p.s. these artists have their own costs associated with making work like studio rental, costumes, props, paying their own performers, etc... not to mention their time and energy!)
- Renting the Performance Venue
- Production Equipment
- Paying Organizers
- Promotional and Marketing Materials and Fees
Help Spindive Dancefest build a valuable opportunity for Atlanta dancers to make and show work, and receive compensation for their creative practice. With partnership with Fractured Atlas, your donation is tax deductible! The highest contributor receives a free Highland Yoga mat!
