ABOUT SF&T
Surging Films & Theatrics is a Chicago-based company dedicated to creating bold black box theatre, indie film, intensive training for younger students, and memorable live experiences while giving emerging artists real opportunities to grow, collaborate, and shine on Chicago stages. Surging is committed to building a creative community where the next generation of storytellers can thrive.
WHY FUNDRAISE?
Due to the current economy, production costs have risen dramatically. Sets, costumes, rights, venues, and artist support all continue to increase—bringing this season’s total budget to over $50,000. The $10,000 goal is just a fraction of the up front costs needed to operate this summer.
HOW YOUR DONATION HELPS!
Your support directly fuels these productions, helps compensate artists, and ensures that opportunities in the arts remain accessible to passionate performers at every level.
Your donation goes directly towards and helps us maintain funds for:
Artists' stipends
Venue rental

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN 2026?
This year is our most ambitious year in recent memory! We have 4 productions planned for the summer of 2026. Our two mainstage shows, The Elephant Man and Newsies, will be taking center stage at THEATER WIT in Chicago during June and July. We will also be running a high school/college intensive production of Spring Awakening, including a one-night-only adult version of the show with company members of SF&T.
In addition to theater, we'll be in the planning stages for the third annual Chicago Film Frenzy, a new film project, and other exciting events in the fall.
Every year we say "we're not sure how we can keep the doors open" and this year needs your help more than ever. Join us in keeping independent theatre and film alive. Help us spread the word on social media by sharing this link and using the hashtag
