INTERSTATE Written by Amina Henry Directed by Cat Miller
Spurred into action by an unexpected crisis, Red packs her adult children into her rusted convertible and heads across the country to try and save the family she feels slipping away. A play about growing up, letting go, and navigating personal evolution with those who have known us the longest. INTERSTATE is a funny, dark and compassionate look at a family trying to figure out how to hold onto one another while setting themselves free.
Our Campaign
The production: We are incredibly grateful to Dixon Place, who’ve offered us the free use of their performance and rehearsal spaces for this production. But we need to raise $22,000 to pay for the production costs, including fees for our incredible cast and crew, scenery, costumes, props and other production costs. For us, this is a substantial amount of money to raise in a short period of time. This opportunity came together quickly and we want to take full advantage of it. The story: In an increasingly polarized environment, when outside forces are trying to dictate what stories are being told and who is allowed to tell them, INTERSTATE presents an intimate look at an American family navigating our current moment. This moment: This is an enormously challenging moment for the arts, particularly for new plays. Opportunities for artists have been disappearing regularly for several years and producing plays has become increasingly difficult and more expensive. Through the generous support of Dixon Place, we have a place to present our work, so every dollar we raise goes directly toward the work you'll see onstage.
Impact of Your Tax-Deductible Donation:
