Help us bring 10 new stories to life in 2020 by contributing to our season! This year Tantrum East is expanding into the world of both fully staged theatrical productions as well as short films.
In March we will present an evening of Bobsnacks. For those of you unfamiliar with this tried and true format of ours, we'll be presenting readings of five shorter pieces. In 2020 we are delighted to present:
- An Excerpt from Evelyn and His Brothers by Ivan Mosley
- An Excerpt from The Exhibitions by D. R. Baker
- An Excerpt from Shut Up, I'm on a Diet by Catherine Weingarten
- An Excerpt from Ferals by M. R. Fitzgerald
- No Winter, No Worries by Jacob Juntunen
- and Check Your Insecurities at the Door by Nate Hug
In June we will present an evening of Bobtales. For this series you can expect to see readings of longer pieces, from one-acts to full-length scripts. In 2020 we're excited to bring you a reading of:
- Mars, Ohio by Jeremy Sony
Later in the year we'll be embarking on our biggest challenge yet, what we're calling our Big Bob. For two weekends in September we will be bringing you our first fully staged productions, complete with all the technical elements and a full rehearsal process. For our first ever Big Bob, we'll be bringing you a double bill including:
- I, Custer by Neal Adelman
- Restore by Jordan Ramirez Puckett
And finally, our plucky little company continues to grow as we venture into the world of film-making. We'll be co-producing an as-of-yet untitled short film by Bianca Sams!
Now, what is it that we need your help with? No great storytelling happens without good artists collaborating in places where they can be creative! Your contributions help us....
- compensate our artists fairly
- secure high quality performance, rehearsal, and shooting locations
- acquire the lighting, cameras, set pieces, props and other equipment necessary to do these stories justice
- offset administrative costs like printing scripts, ordering checks, and acquiring insurance
More details about all of our writers and these scripts can be found at our website, here! Follow us on facebook or instagram, or sign up on our email list here to be kept abreast of exact dates and locations for all these events, as well as any other news we have throughout the year.
