  Teenage Wasteland
is a short film being produced by an incredible team of artists from The Savannah College of Art and Design that is inspired by our teenage experiences, the pivotal moment from our lives as we step into adulthood.

This film isn’t just about a trio of best friends retaliating against the death of their childhood by preparing to throw their last high school party, but it is a story reflecting on our youth when we thought the world didn't understand us and we were attempting to discover who we are supposed to be.

You’re invited to the party and with your help, for the thrilling adventure that awaits! Welcome to the Wasteland!

We’ve laid the groundwork for what The Wasteland will be - tedious hours creating the transportive concept art, carefully designing the unique outfits, and filming a short teaser. Here’s a sneak peek! More Coming Soon!

Concept Art

(Works done by Elianna Ayala, Hannah Chan, Jakob Potter, Eloise Leibnitz Armstrong, and Kira Knoop)
Costume Design

(Costumes designed Amanda Raylen Lenininger)

This film is made through a team of talented and multidisciplinary artists. Our goal is to craft this story and world with care and we're trying to raise $4000. The raised funds will go towards Safety, Art Direction, Catering and Distribution.

Safety is a top priority for our crew and a portion of the money will help keeping us safe throughout the entire shoot. As we are building a world, the Art Direction will help us communicate an immersive experience for our audience. Lastly, the raised funds will go towards film festival distribution for submission to South by Southwest, the Atlanta Film Festival, and the Miami International Film Festival.
Teenage Wasteland is our senior thesis capstone project for the Savannah College of Art and Design. It was inspired by our own high school experiences, our band of misfits that would always get us into trouble, and that relentless uncertainty of the future.

The Wasteland belongs to everyone.

Our greatest challenge is to achieve a raw and organic experience while trying to create an eclectic and magical realist world.

To do justice to the world and to these vital moments from all our lives, we want to tell this story in a creative and innovative way possible by showcasing the work of relentless students in crafting this world through various art mediums

Producing a film as students at this scale is difficult; creating a world that engages our audiences and invites them to see more, is challenging - however we have spent the last year working on this project and we’re determined to bring it to life.

My name is Josh Prem and I'm in my senior year at SCAD. I wrote this film inspired by my own teenage years and directing this film with an incredible cast and crew. As I graduate, I look back to the amazing life that I've lived, the childhood I had, and the people that were there to support me. I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for those experiences I had when I was younger, the ones that shaped me as a person and as a storyteller and I believe that those moments are some of the pivotal in life. My personal goal for this story is to hopefully give this film to anyone that thinks that the world doesn't understand them and are worried about the future, and to tell them that everything is going be ok; enjoy the moment you have to discover who you are. If you have any personal connections to this film or want to share a memory from your reckless years, we want to hear all of them. You can reach me personally at joshprem1@gmail.com.

In the wise words of Led Zeppelin: "Good times, bad times, you know I've had my share."
