Following the tremendous success of last summer’s outdoor residency at the Brooklyn Navy Yard featuring [title of show] and the world premiere of John Patrick Shanley’s I Am Your Masseuse, The Bridge Production Group (Max Hunter, Artistic Director) is thrilled to announce the New York City premiere of George Kaplan, a play by celebrated French playwright Frédéric Sonntag and adapted by Samuel Buggeln.
Directed by Max Hunter, this strictly limited run begins November 15th at the New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street, New York, NY 10014). Featuring Resident Artist Christina Toth, additional casting and creative information will be announced shortly. ... why are they so concerned with the chicken?
George Kaplan (the character) is the fictional spy in Hitchcock’s North by Northwest; George Kaplan (the play) is a hilarious and dizzying look into the way fiction interacts with political narrative and identity.
A comedy, a thriller, a hoax — George Kaplan is one of the most-produced plays to emerge from Europe this decade.
