The Dare Tactic- Spark Grants
The Dare Tactic’s newest initiative, Spark Grants, will provide financial support to extraordinary emerging artists suffering from the impacts of COVID-19.
The Dare Tactic was planning an incredible 6th season when the COVID-19 pandemic shut NYC down. TDT has been working to figure out our next step, and provide our artists with the best possible options in the current climate. The Dare Tactic is now raising funds to put financial support directly in the pockets of emerging artists.
The Dare Tactic is launching their first ever class of Spark Grants. TDT will be accepting applications in order to find a number of emerging generative theatre artists who exemplify extraordinary work. Now more than ever, emerging artists need financial support in order to continue the creation of exceptional work. With the industry at a standstill until further notice, TDT plans to highlight these artists over the course of a year: giving them a platform to share their work while also providing a stipend to support their work . We will be showcasing each artist, their individual "quarantine" artistic process, and promoting the wonderful work. In these unpredictable, uncertain times, our goal is to re-spark the fire in artists.
Since 2014, The Dare Tactic has been supporting emerging artists in various ways. From fully produced mainstage productions, to new work development, concerts, drag events, and everything in between; The Dare Tactic has always grown and adapted to provide the means necessary for artists to grow, experiment, and showcase work at different stages of the process. Ultimately, it has always been our mission to support innovative, original works by underrepresented voices.
