More than ever, the holiday season makes us appreciate the partnerships we've built, and the new ones that are just beginning. This year, we are pledging to raise $5000.00. By making a tax-deductible donation, you can be part of our journey in 2022
It's been a blessing to finally have a full year working together in person again. Though zoom rehearsals were still a thing, and helpful, we completed four wonderful in person projects this year and are excited to look ahead to see what we can accomplish, with your help, in 2023. We kicked off the year with the filming of a new short, called Dating a Murder Mystery Character. Captain Placeholder and the Adventures of We'll Figure It Our Later was our first indoor live performance since the pandemic, and we had the wonderful help of our Intern from Belmont University. The 6th Ten Minute Play Soiree was a hit in the West Side Community Garden, with over 30 Artists involved in the production. We rounded out the year with the first annual Upper West Side Short Film Festival at Goddard Riverside, where we were awarded a Residency Program this year. We showcased 11 short films, two fine artists and a musical performance. We invested in Intimacy, Anti-Racism and Allyship Training. We offered a Low-Cost Actor Training Class on a monthly basis, helping artists to grow regardless of their financial position. We Submitted to Film Festivals All Over the World for Lifestyle Content and Revival. Our Writer's Group took place twice a month on zoom, with writer's from around the country tuning in to share and develop their new work. And- We finally finished the music composition on Mitch Devoe. We are thrilled to say we almost completed all of our 2021 goals. Covid derailed some of our timelines, but those project continue into next year!
In the year to come, we have even more ambitious plans and we need your help. Every contribution, no matter the size, gets us one step closer to our goal. In the coming year, we have four live events planned. We hope kick off the year with an art event celebrating African Artists in February, featuring fine artists, musicians, artisans and performances. This spring, we'll be sharing Muse by Frank Tangredi. With nine performances at the Tank in April, the first third of the year will be largely dedicated to working on this mammoth production. In the summer, we'll have two projects happening simultaneously- our 7th Ten Minute Play Soiree as well as pre-production and shooting of our next short film, Why Those Crops Grow Taller. Heading into the Fall, we'll have our second annual Upper West Side Film Festival, as well as the next iteration of Captain Placeholder and the Adventures of We'll Figure It Out Later. Your contributions will help fund rehearsal and performance space, set design, costumes, marketing materials, documentation costs, location and film costs, and money for the artists involved. And that's just the productions. We'll be continuing our low-cost acting classes, our writer's group on zoom and submitting to festivals. We'll be finally finishing post production on The Unspeakable Passion of Mitch Devoe. We'll be starting a new film class for high school students in partnership with Goddard Riverside Community Arts. Your contributions will help with the costs to finish the film, and to begin paying submission fees for festivals. We will continue to offer free and low cost tickets to our audience, because at Greenhouse we firmly believe that art should be accessible to everyone regardless of their financial situation, and your contributions help to off-set the costs and allow us to continue supporting our philosophy.
Thank you for your ongoing love and support! It takes a lot to keep the work going even in the best of times. We thank all of you for the support you have given us as friends, audience members, advisors, and donors.
