The Last Hundred Ensemble’s Inaugural Concert
TLH Ensemble presents its inaugural concert next June 19th, 2021 at 7.30 pm. Pre-Concert talk at 7 pm. Find them at the Herbert & Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center (FIU), Miami, Florida.
TLH Ensemble’s mission is to present contemporary music in a historical context by programming new works by living composers alongside works written within the last one hundred years by both well-known and lesser-known composers. TLH Ensemble aims to present unique programs that provide audience members an opportunity to experience works that would rarely be heard in concert together.
What You Are Funding
The Last Hundred (TLH) Ensemble is hoping to raise funds for its inaugural concert that will take place on June 19, 2021 at the Wertheim Performing Arts Center in Miami.
The concert will feature the newly formed TLH Ensemble performing a unique program of art music written in the last one hundred years. TLH Ensemble reflects Miami’s diverse populous and their experiences by sourcing multicultural local and global art music and talent.
For this occasion, Juan Trigos, the ensemble’s artistic director and conductor has carefully selected one repertoire work by Igor Stravinsky, as well as a recent work by Mexican-American composer Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon, and two premieres by Miami-based composers Federico Bonacossa, and Catalina von Wrangell.
We invite audiences everywhere to contemplate the evolution of art music and broaden their understanding of its traditions and its potential trajectories.
Will you help us makes this hope a reality?

The Impact
The Last Hundred (TLH) Ensemble is seeking funds to support the project titled “The Last Hundred Ensemble’s Inaugural Concert,” an event that will feature our newly formed ensemble performing a unique program of art music written in the last one hundred years.
Funds will help the TLH Ensemble promote local and international artists at a time when the arts community has been impacted severely in the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. That aside, we truly believe art music is invaluable but that the individuals working to create it, deserve to be compensated for their labor.
Funds for our inaugural concert will allow us to share with you our vision for art-music.
What We Will Do For Our Community
Discounted tickets for students and elderly members of the community
The event will take place on June 19, 2021 at the Wertheim Performing Arts Center in Miami. Tickets to the event will be sold in advance for a discounted price through our website and through the Ars Ticketing platform (arsticketing.com). In addition, there will be special pricing options for seniors and students made available through the Culture Shock and Golden Ticket services. The concert will simultaneously be live-streamed on Youtube to expand the event’s potential reach and for those in our community who cannot attend due to health concerns, physical or logistic limitations, or financial reasons. A donation will be suggested and a link to our website and our mailing list will be included at the end of the live-streamed concert and in the video description.
In order to respect social distancing guidelines, we plan to sell 50 tickets as follows:
Free for FIU music students $5 non FIU students / seniors (25) $15 general admission (25)
Most immediately, TLH Ensemble will begin a conversation with our community about art music and its history and potential future. In the future, we are planning on engaging our community through workshops, masterclasses, and of course by first supporting local talent, and second, creating bridges between Miami and other parts of the country and world.
Risks & Challenges
The livelihood of many musicians has been drastically impacted by COVID-19. During the past year countless concerts have been cancelled. We are planning to perform our inaugural concert live but are aware that many people still do not feel safe attending live concerts. For this reason, the size of the live audience will be limited and we will simultaneously live-stream the concert live on YouTube.
Other Ways You Can Help
You can help us by spreading the word about our concert and this campaign. We truly appreciate your contribution and can't wait to meet you!
