The Muse Duo began at the Eastman School of Music as a friendship between guitarist Collin Holloway and pianist/composer Luke Benedict. What started as a shared curiosity about guitar and piano has grown into a long-term artistic project with its own repertoire, sound world, and distinct creative direction.

Over the past four years, we have released our debut album (Experiments), toured, performed sold-out concerts, workshopped hours of new music, collaborated with composers and multiple ensembles, given interviews, received our first press, and built a body of repertoire created specifically for our duo. Along the way, we’ve continued exploring what guitar and piano can become together; from classical chamber music to Luke’s original compositions combining electric guitar, electronics, and synthesizer. Muse Duo is a wholly original and maturing ensemble, and this season marks an important step in our artistic growth and national presence.
 

The 2026–2027 season is an important next step for Muse Duo. With a Boston residency, performances throughout Florida, and upcoming concerts in North and South Carolina, we are building a season that brings our repertoire to more audiences while giving us space to continue refining and expanding our artistic voice. 

This season includes a Boston residency with Room to Spare, the chamber duo of composer/performers Julia Connor and David Leach; performances in Vero Beach, Orlando, and South Florida; and a Southeast tour week with concerts in Asheville, Greenville, and the surrounding region. As the season continues to take shape, these engagements form the foundation for a broader year of performances, collaborations, and the continued evolution of Muse Duo’s artistic voice.

Muse Duo lives somewhere between classical chamber music and something harder to categorize. Our programs move from traditional acoustic repertoire to Luke’s original compositions, where electric guitar, electronics, synthesizer, driving rhythms, and classical influences come together in a sound world of our own.
