The Pandora Consort is hosting the third annual Worlds Collide Showcase and we need your help! The Pandora Consort is an early music ensemble focused on creating new experiences of Classical music, including cross-genre collaboration. Since the beginning of Pandora's work, the Worlds Collide Showcase has been an important part of that mission.
Worlds Collide Showcase
This performance is a concert, competition, and fundraising event focused on cross-genre collaboration. Artists from different musical backgrounds are teamed up to perform original songs and original covers combining different genres of music (for example: EDM and Baroque, hip hop and jazz, etc.). Each performing duo and trio will have a corresponding charity that they are fundraising for. At the end of the showcase the audience will vote for their favorite performance, and a cash prize will be awarded to the winning duo/ trio respectively, as well as an additional prize for their corresponding charitable organization. All performers will receive a modest stipend of $50 plus the opportunity to raise individual funds.
The Worlds Collide Showcase is meant to facilitate cross-genre musical collaboration in the Greater Boston area, as well as collaboration between musicians and charitable organizations serving Eastern Massachusetts.
Worlds Collide Showcase
Saturday, November 9th 8:30pm
The Lilypad
Inman Square, Cambridge, MA
The past two Worlds Collide Showcases have raised funds for organizations like the Pine Street Inn, Just A Start, Planned Parenthood Southeast, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, the Trans Emergency Fund, and the North End Music and Performance Arts Center Scholarship Fund. Additionally, many past performers have gone on to continue to write and perform together and form their own ensembles.
Financial Goal
Our goal this year is to compensate ALL performers for their work with a $100 stipend, which is low by industry standards. Funding for the Worlds Collide Showcase comes from individual donations and personal funds from the Pandora Consort co-founders. Funds that exceed our goal will be used to generate a higher stipend for all performers to support their own individual artistic work. We would love nothing more than to pay our incredible musicians what they are worth!
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us produce this event and support our 2024-2025 season of pushing the boundaries of Classical music performance.
GOAL: $1,500
