[About Us]
Hi everyone!  We are very excited to have you join us on this amazing journey through time and space.  The Statuesque team brings together people from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds all dedicated to the mission of this production and its sponsor, the International Medical Crisis Response Alliance (a UN consultative agency). While our individual paths have been different, we are surprisingly united by a shared belief in the power of storytelling to inspire reflection, dialogue, badly needed social impact and in this case, some truly unimaginable but very possible worlds.

Statuesque is an elegant medical sci-fi play that explores our evolving relationship with Earth’s environment and each other, the fragility of human life and the vast spectrum of possibilities that go beyond our current conceptions of what is scientifically and medically possible.

The piece runs approximately 90–100 minutes and engages deeply with themes of medicine, longevity, and intercultural (... if not interspecies)  ethics.

Statuesque sis directed by Casey Speer, and stars Rengu Zhang as Susie, Xsyanni Jackson as her bestie Amanda, and Iza Junkiera as Alyssa.  If nothing else, they are Absolutely Amazing.

You will believe in Total Cytoplasmic Perfusion.

[Why Support Us?]
At a time when technology advances faster than ever and daily life often feels increasingly divided and uncertain, stories like this have the power to bring people together and most importantly, inspire some badly needed confidence in future possibilities. Medicine and science has become distant and monolithic, recently under attack from elements who have no conception of its exciting potentialities. Statuesque will re-awaken the amazement and wonder we all felt as children

Through humor, unfettered imagination, and deeply human moments, Statuesque invites audiences into a world of advanced technology cast in the mold of the familiar and the intriguingly and mysteriously slightly unfamiliar.   A world just a bit ajar.  It provides an intriguing opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with questions that are the very personal realm of our all of our thoughts.  Ultimately, How do we care for one another?  How far do ethics and respect for life extend?  What kind of future are we creating together?

This production originated with a team of artists, healthcare professionals, nonprofit leaders, and storytellers from diverse backgrounds who vigorously embrace realistic possibilities and see the world clearly as it is and can still be.  We came together enthusiastically because we believe these conversations are worth having and that theatre can do more than entertain - it can create empathy, spark curiosity, remind us of our shared humanity, and inspire renewed confidence in the millenial future we miss so badly now.

Bringing an original work to the stage is a collective effort. Your support helps provide rehearsal space, production resources, and the opportunity for devoted artists to share this inspiring and thought provoking story with audiences. It also helps support the international emergency clinical and educational work of IMCRA, the International Medical Crisis Response Alliance, (www.imcra.net) which has been working to bring emergency and long term medical relief worldwide since 2011.  Perhaps most importantly, this production creates a space where people can gather, laugh, think, and experience something very memorable together.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps bring Statuesque from vision to reality. We are humbly grateful to everyone who chooses to be part of this journey.

[About IMCRA]
We are a UN-consultative medical and educational nonprofit organization founded in 2011 in response to the Great Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami.  We work primarily in Asia, Africa, North America and Eastern Europe to bring native language health-related expertise and medical response to severely impacted communities.  We bridge crucial gaps in global health crises by deploying an innovative telemedicine platform along with a world-class volunteer faculty numbering nearly 100 healthcare professionals.  Ultimately we empower under-resourced local medical workers, enhancing their ability to serve vulnerable populations effectively.  Your support of this production directly impacts and helps this mission.  Our current main foci are Gaza/Israel/Ukraine, Oceanic and Climate Health, Reversing Misinformation, Disinformation and Propaganda in internet scientific communications and the use of beneficial AI to enhance medical diagnostics and response.
