I have had a lifelong interest in the performance of Fritz Kreisler's works. At Juilliard, I lived across the hall from Franz Rupp, Kreisler's longtime pianist who recorded the first complete set of the Beethoven Violin Sonatas with Kreisler, and who also attended one of my recitals in New York. I also was fortunate to get advice about the performance of Kreisler's works from two great violinists, Oscar Shumsky and Josef Giongold, who recorded many of Kreisler's compositions, and also Eric Wen, former editor of the Strad, who first recorded the complete works of Kreisler on Biddulph records. Now, please help me fund my debut recording, a "Celebration of 150th Anniversary of violinist Fritz Kreisler", which includes works not only written by Fritz Kreisler, but also dedicated to him or associated with him-for instance, the Duo Sonata in A Major by Franz Schubert that Kreisler recorded with Sergei Rachmaninoff, and the Solo Violin Sonata No 4 by Eugene Ysaye, dedicated to Kreisler.
