Verdant Vibes is a Providence-based new music collective and concert series in its fifth season that brings together artists and musicians creating new work in a variety of genres and media, acoustic and electronic.
We are asking for support for our
Verdant Vibes Spring Festival that will feature four collaborative pieces/installations with local guest artists
Inga Chinilina,
Becci Davis,
Laurie Amat/Becca Bender, and
Lee Gilboa, as well as a full program of diverse new music from our free call for scores.
The show will start at 7pm evening of May 2nd, 2020 at the newly renovated Downtown Branch of the Providence Public Library (150 Empire St., Providence, RI). Our performances with the guest artists will explore such historical topics as the legacy of the Gorham Manufacturing Company and both the degradation and rebirth of Mashapaug Pond, and a performance accompanying historical films from the Hurricane of 1938 and the Blizzard of '78, in collaboration with the RI Historical Society Film Archive.
The performance will be
FREE TO THE PUBLIC.
Affordable or free admission is part of both our mission and that of the Providence Public Library to make our performances accessible to a diverse community.
* We are asking for donations to help with the costs of paying our performers and guest artists, staff, and documentation professionals.
Thank you for your support!
