Voice Seekers NYC was founded in the fall of 2023 and currently has over thirty members. The choir's name, “Voice Seekers,” represents a search for voices and harmony. We welcome Chinese singers from diverse backgrounds to join us in exploring the power of harmony and vocal resonance. As a non-profit, audition-based choir, Voice Seekers is dedicated to providing a platform for passionate, aspiring singers to grow and connect. Our repertoire focuses primarily on Chinese choral music, incorporating dialects and songs in other languages, presenting a rich variety of musical expressions.
Voice Seekers NYC brings together New York-based international students and working professionals of all ages, creating a close-knit musical community outside of school and work.
Mission
Voice Seekers NYC is a Mandarin Chinese choir that brings together voices across languages and cultures to create meaningful choral experiences. We explore stories through music, promote language and cultural exchange, and engage with diverse communities through performance, education, and collaboration.
Vision
We envision a vibrant, inclusive arts community where choral music transcends language barriers, connects cultures, and inspires both personal and collective growth. Through innovative programming and multilingual storytelling, we strive to be a voice for empathy, expression, and belonging.
Core Values
Cultural Exchange: We celebrate and uplift diverse cultural traditions, particularly within the Mandarin-speaking and multilingual communities.
Multilingual Expression: We perform in Mandarin and other languages, embracing the richness of global voices and using language as a bridge - not a barrier.
Community Engagement: We connect people through shared musical experiences, supporting individual artists while building bridges across diverse communities.
