Devil’s Thumb Chamber Music Festival launches May 20–23, 2026 in Petersburg, Alaska.
This inaugural season brings internationally recognized artists—including composer/percussionist Alexis Lamb, pianist Artyom Pak, and founder, soprano, and Alaskan composer Stephanie Pfundt—into deep collaboration with local musicians and community partners. The festival will premiere a new Southeast Alaska–inspired commission, present Strauss’ Brentano Lieder and other works by Alexis Lamb in public concert, and host masterclasses, a neuroscience-of-practice workshop, a community sound walk, and a fixed-media installation in the community of Petersburg, Alaska. Designed as a model for thoughtful rural arts tourism, the festival integrates world-class artistry with place-based cultural exchange and dialogue. Your support helps establish the artistic, administrative, and community foundation for a sustainable chamber music destination in Southeast Alaska—locally rooted, internationally resonant.
