Young Stracke All-Stars 10 Years Celebration

Support the Young Stracke All-Stars as they celebrate 10 years of this one-of-a-kind youth music-making community!

     CHICAGO, IL, United States
    This is a Fiscally-Sponsored Project

    Fiscally Sponsored by Fractured Atlas

Keep on the Sunny Side.  Always on the Sunny Side.

Founded by award-winning music educator, Jason McInnes, in 2018, the Young Stracke All-Stars are a group of youth musicians in Chicago who celebrate the legacy of early television star, musician and music education innovator, Win Stracke.

2018 sees the band celebrating 10 years of building bridges between youth and master musicians and creating performance and social music opportunities for musicians of all ages. Along the way we hope to have inspired countless people of all ages to gather with their friends and family to play music.

We’re a few months into our 10th year and we have a big summer and fall planned, and we’ll need your help to continue bringing our music to stages and song circles throughout Chicago.  First, we’ll be releasing a new 45 record to celebrate our 10 years of music making. Last February we gathered over 100 of our friends and family to record this affirmation that the band is bigger than just the band and that we all have a part of play in creating a world of harmony.

In addition, we’ve scheduled a full summer and fall of community events, including:
    • a featured spot during Chicago’s Make Music Day on June 21 with a jam and free music lessons at Chicago’s Millennium Park
    • a record release party at the venerable music venue, Lincoln Hall, in which everyone will have an opportunity to participate,
    • and many additional opportunities to sing, play and grow our musical community with beginning and master musicians of all ages.

Let Us Greet with a Song of Hope Each Day.

We’ve envisioned an exciting year for both the band and our larger musical community and we’re going to need support to make it happen.  Together, the Young Stracke All-Stars are looking to our community for $6000 which will help us:

    • continue with our regular schedule of vibrant community music events
    • produce our 45 record  Young Stracke All-Stars and Friends Keep on the Sunny Side
    • to properly document and archive 10 years of where we’ve been and where we are,
    • compensate a team of professional musicians, educators, production staff and designers to support us at our 10 year celebration at Lincoln Hall.

We have gifts for those who are able to donate including:

    • vinyl 7" singles and digital downloads of our forthcoming recording,
    • a small fan pack of music supplies
    • an opportunity to have an original song written and performed by the band.

But, we imagine that you’ll give what you can, knowing that with the Young Stracke All-Stars, it’s not about the stuff, it’s about the positive experience of hearing the band live, sitting in with the band at a jam session or on stage, or listening to our voices ring out over your stereo speakers.

Every little bit helps and we thank you for whatever you can contribute.

    Everybody play!

Even if you are not in a position to make a financial contribution, please know that you are an important part of the Young Stracke All-Stars community.  Here are some things you can do to stay connected with the band.

    • Come to one of our free jams!  In fact, bring a friend with you!  Everyone is always welcome, no matter their age or experience level.  Beginners are especially welcome.
    • Connect with us on social media.  The band can be found on Facebook (www.facebook.com/youngstrackeallstars), as well as Instagram and Twitter (@youngstrackes).  We’d love to hear your songs and your stories about what music had brought to your life.

It will help us every day.  It will brighten all our way.

Jason, our founder and director says, "Thank you so much for the trust that you have put in us over the past 10 years to create fun, inviting, inspiring spaces for music and sharing.  To you, the people of all ages and musical experiences who support us and enjoy your time with the Young Stracke All-Stars, we would not have come nearly this far without you. Thank you."
