By supporting the exchange of ideas, opinions, and perspectives between artists, curators, and collectors, 99 Canal is creating a new artistic community in New York’s emerging art scene, Chinatown. While providing affordable work studio spaces and residency programs to both New York-based and international emerging artists, we are building a public program that runs in parallel to our residencies. As an artist run initiative, our experimental program focuses on screenings, exhibitions, and performances, that push boundaries without the pressure of institutional constraints.
While we are excited to receive funding from various foundations and art institutions by September 2024, to aid the long term sustainability of our program, we are currently seeking support from individuals who share our vision during this transitional period.
At 99 Canal, our mission is to provide affordable studio spaces to emerging artists. By supporting us, you would initially be helping to subsidize studio 1, making it possible for artists to work in downtown New York, while exposing them to the city's contemporary art scene. This is the first step in our long-term vision of applying the same format to all five studios in the space.

Our donation tiers reflect our goals, and with your support, we can achieve the following objectives:
Friends: A donation of $2,000 will support the practice of an individual artist by subsidizing part of their residency costs for a 1-3 month period.
Dreamers: A donation of $5,000 will support the practice of an individual artist by subsidizing part of their residency costs for a 1-3 month period while also sustaining our public program.
Visionaries: A donation of $10,000 will allow 99 Canal to invite International emerging artists for a 1-3 month residency while ensuring the continuity of our project and public program.
All donations are tax deductible, and will contribute to the improvement of our space. The intention is to build an accessible and inclusive program, open to experimentation and supportive of all artistic expressions. The above tiers are indicative of our financial needs, but any amount, big or small, would enable us to strengthen our program and broaden our community.
