About

This project will be a fully "learned by ear" recording featuring celebrated classical and folk musicians from New York. The purpose is to shine a light into the human abilities that have fed and enriched music history for centuries: memory, technique, virtuosity, craftsmanship and devotion to imagination and creativity. As the era of A.I. threatens to remove human musicians from the making of music completely, this project reclaims the space and the language sentient beings have created. That is why the music will be learned by playing and listening only, without using sheet music or written formats, which will revere the most ancient transfer of culture: the oral tradition. The record will be structured as an Opera, with several classically influenced arias, merging into folk songs that will bridge the sections with each other, with Spanish and English lyrics and the use of several instruments from different genres.
