About

We're excited to finish the post-production for a short film that captures the Asian-American experience through a new lens. The story of a mother and daughter who share a similar story of finding their own way in new worlds. But even though they have a similar trajectory, these two can't seem to hear one another.

Within a few minutes, we watch as our central character Grace's professional prowess shines during a work call. The camera follows her as she problem solves with an unexpected ease. But that kind of confidence can be fleeting.

That's because right after, Joyce receives a call from her mother causing that foundation to waiver. You see both women are dealing have felt certain pains. One that comes from a gendered experience but also that marks the peculiarities that immigrants feel as they try to make their way. It's one that's passed from generation to generation.

It's these feelings that challenges both mother and daughter to truly hear to one another. Until finally, one of them breaks.
