Research project for book about French Protestants, or Huguenots.
A PASSONATE NOMAD reveals the stories of those Huguenots who after years of persecution refuse to convert to Catholicism and choose instead to leave 17th and 18th century France. The book will be the first to include the fuller extent of their diaspora as well as many of their important global contributions.
Research in seventeen countries over six continents during two and a half years of continuous travel is now complete. A feat in itself! For making this part of my low budget project possible, I owe thanks to the many donors who have made contributions through Fractured Atlas.
Descriptions of my own adventures and misadventures as I trace these early pioneers will invite the reader to travel with me on this quest. Lugging my suitcase up mountains in Norway and staying up all night in airports are part of my no obstacle attitude.
I am now a stationary nomad in a Paris studio completing the writing of the book during the next three or four months. Your contributions will help fund the necessary last steps leading to its publication; thank you in advance for your generosity. The story of the Huguenots' willingness to face an uncertain future and their ultimate success needs to be told.
