My first public artwork, "a murmuration," is a 330' data visualization rendered in steel and aluminum. It has been a tremendous feat to produce, and very much a life changing experience, in many ways. This artwork was installed in fall of 2023, but requires additional work, beyond the granted project budget. For the past few years I have self-funded the extra costs*, but have arrived at the very limit of what is possible.
I am seeking community support to help fund the re-fabrication of deficient parts, and to help offset the cost of legal counsel, insurance, labor, and physical studio space. Any and all funds are helpful and will ensure that the work [a permanent installation!] is complete and that a future for my studio is possible.**
* self funded: $60k for re-fabricated aluminum discs; $10k for vinyl stencils; $10k in misc labor; $20k in legal fees
** to be funded: $40k for anodization, engraving and installation; $60k in legal fees
