A Practice in Listening is a Bay Area vinyl-based sound project creating intimate public gatherings where music is the reason people are in the room.
Rooted in a queer and POC perspective, the project uses analog sound, intentional space, and shared attention to activate third spaces, soften boundaries across genre and community, and create opportunities for people to slow down, discover music, and be present together.
Support will help build a portable high-fidelity listening system, develop new musical repertoire, support collaborating artists and spaces, and bring a public series of listening sessions to life in 2027.
