Located in the heart of downtown Adams, MA, the long-vacant Adams Theater is under development to become a multi-functional performing arts center. It will provide a much-needed new stage for local artists and cultural entrepreneurs to collaborate and to expand the creative economy in Adams and Berkshire County.
Since its establishment in May 2021, Adams Theater has repaired some of its 2,496 sqft storefront retail space and the 8,109 sqft auditorium. From August to December 2021, Adams Theater sponsored a series of community events and free performances in its raw space, generating a positive momentum that brings new life to a quiet downtown. Since February 2022, Adams Theater has kicked off its first phase of renovation, which includes brand new bathrooms that will allow us to host up to 400 people for events.
Adams Theater strives to be a creative hub for innovative thinkers and makers. It celebrates rehearsals as much as performances. It hosts workshops as well as community events. It focuses on accessibility to a diverse audience and stimulates dialogues between different user groups.
