About

Africa House is a trans-national, cross-continental arts organization serving the artistic and professional needs of African continental and African diasporic artists between New York City and West Africa. Our vision is to create a pan-African art house that is a studio facility, resource and learning center and social hub for creative professionals to develop and advance artist careers. Our interest is in Africanist art, meaning work that deals with African Continental and African Diasporic affairs, concerns and themes, centering African methodologies and technologies. Our model is reliant on strategic partnerships with arts organizations in West Africa and NYC to provide training and collaborative opportunities. As more folks in the African diaspora grow curiosity and interest in engaging Africa, Africa House is an entry point to a wide network of artistic resources and community.

Support this work to help provide resource pathways and cultural engagement between artists in these regions to foster innovation, cultural advancement and economic opportunities in the arts.

Where does your support go?

  • We are currently executing the first model season of arts programs through May, 2023 which include our film screening series, our podcast featuring Liberian arts and culture workers and our co-working cafe (garden, Africanistlibrary and writing room).
  • Our next goal post is the official launch of the organization in 2024 for which we are raising funds for branding and marketing campaign.
