Almost 120 years after its premiere, Finnish composer Jean Sibelius’ only opera will be given its American Premiere in a concert performance at the New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall on April 15th, 2025. This beautiful chamber opera, Jungfrun i tornet (the Maiden in the Tower), presents a rare and exciting opportunity to hear a master composer’s early musical voice. NEC faculty member Joseph Bozich will conduct an ensemble of emerging professionals and conservatory students; tickets are free and a livestream will also be hosted on NEC’s website.
