CONCUSSSSION by Amma Ateria embarks on a continuous exploration initiated by an impact to the orbital and frontal bone, fostering an unspoken dialogue on resilience and recovery. This work intricately engages with psychoacoustics—the biological functions of the human brain, employing low-frequency binaural beats, brainwave entrainment, equal-loudness contours, and time shifts as its core elements and sound palette. Manifesting in various forms—sound compositions, recordings, visual scores, performances, and time-based projections—this project documents the shifts in neurological responses across DELTA, THETA, ALPHA, BETA, and GAMMA waves. Psychological transference emerges as distinct pink noises, from the shatter of glass to the patter of rain, merges into one and other. These compositions are profound reflections of experiences with stillness, unconsciousness, and auditory hallucinations, serving as catalysts for levitation, transformation, and neurogenesis. It poses a contemplative inquiry: How does individual recovery influence the dynamics of collective resilience?
