About the ANIMA Project
ANIMA is a deeply personal photography project, and I’m currently raising funds to bring it to life. The goal is to raise awareness about mental health, especially among young people—through a powerful and emotionally impactful visual series.
In this project, I will photograph iconic pop culture superheroes like Superman, Catwoman, Wonder Woman, and Spider-Man, but not in the usual way. Instead of portraying them as always fearless and flawless, I will show them in moments of vulnerability, dealing with real mental health struggles like anxiety, depression, and emotional exhaustion.
Why superheroes? Because they are symbols of strength. But I want to remind the world that even heroes can suffer and that’s okay!!!!
This is a deeply personal project for me. I have struggled with anxiety and depression all my past life , and I know what it feels like to hide your pain behind a strong face. Through ANIMA, I want to send a clear and powerful message: you are not alone, and there is strength in asking for help.
I’m raising funds to cover the production costs costumes, crew, studio space, locations, and final prints for public exhibition. Once the images are ready, my goal is to take this project on tour across the United States, with a special focus on communities with large youth populations, such as schools, community centers, and underserved rural areas.
You probably know someone who is struggling, a friend, a neighbor, a classmate, a sibling, even your own child. Mental health challenges are often silent, and the people around us may be carrying more than we realize. ANIMA can help them feel seen, understood, and less alone.
Together, we can use art to start honest conversations, inspire hope, and create change.
Join me in helping break the stigma around mental health. Support ANIMA and be part of a movement that reminds people everywhere that they don’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
