Art of the Game

As a multidisciplinary artist for over 50 years, I tend to work with concepts of a provocative nature, combining my experience with public art, sculpture, photography and mixed-media.   A thread that seems to run through all of my work, past and present, is that our lives are based on how well we play the  “Game”. 

I began inventing games and game boards based on common life experiences , some light, some very dark, but easy to relate to and generally humorous. Because many of my public art pieces and installations used the game board format, and often the game narrative, they had to be intuitive and visually attracting to the casual passerby in order to entice them to play.

I  design and build an art installation as an interactive life-size game board, or a group of sculptural pieces arranged as a stage set -  an exhibit that you can  walk into, or onto and not only view the art, but become, unwittingly or not, part of the event.   After the event is over, the props/artworks are available for purchase.
