Art We There Yet is an initiative by artists José Luis Vílchez and Cora Rose. Our mission is to create art highlighting the challenges, diversity, and shared humanity of peoples across the Americas.
Aboard a bus converted into an art and recording studio, we are traveling 30,000 miles across North, Central, and South America. The goal of the project is twofold:
To create a vast portfolio of visual art, photographs, film, music, and soundscapes inspired by the peoples and landscapes of the Americas.
To volunteer our time to provide free murals, art workshops, and performances in communities lacking access to arts funding.
Why? Because art is powerful. We are using art and music to illustrate that diversity is our greatest strength, emphasizing our shared humanity. We also believe everyone deserves access to public art and arts education, so we are providing free arts programming in communities that need it the most.
