Galerie Louie: A Contemporary Art Space in Rural France

Galerie Louie is a nonprofit contemporary art gallery located in rural Southwest France. Founded in 2024, the gallery presents exhibitions by a wide range of artists - painters, sculptors, photographers, musicians, and interdisciplinary creators - with the goal of bringing ambitious, high-quality art to both a rural audience as well as to national and international visitors.

Located in a renovated tobacco drying barn, Galerie Louie offers a clean, flexible space for showing work that is thoughtful, engaging and often experimental.  While many cultural resources in France are concentrated in urban centers, we believe that art should be accessible across geographies - especially in communities where contemporary programming is limited.

The gallery organizes several exhibitions each year and hosts occasional public events, including artist talks, film nights, and informal community gatherings.  All programing is presented in both French and English.  Admission is free, and the space is open during exhibition seasons or by appointment. In the future, we look forward to be open year round.

Galerie Louie welcomes artists at various stages of their careers and collaborates with curators, educators and local organizations to foster dialogue across disciplines.  While our current focus is on growing gradually and sustainably, we aim to develop into a cultural meeting point - a place for exchange between artists and the public in an environment that invites curiosity and reflection.

We are registered as an Association Loi 1901 in France and we are fiscally sponsored in the U.S. by Fractured Atlas, a nonprofit arts service organizations.  This sponsorship allows us to accept tax-deductible donations from U.S. based supporters and ensures transparency and accountability in all fundraising activities, in accordance with U.S. regulations. All funds go directly towards exhibition costs, operations, and accessible programming. We will continue to make improvements as resources allow.

Our long-term vision is to grow Galerie Louie into a year-round cultural hub - a place where artists, thinkers and the wider public can gather to experience and exchange ideas through exhibitions talks and creative events.  As we evolve, we remain committed to offering meaningful, high-quality programming in a setting that values intimacy, focus and human connection
