Babar & The Piano is a modern retelling of Francis Poulenc’s “L’histoire de Babar” with new narration (the first to be approved by The Poulenc Estate in nearly half a century) focussing on the intersection of classical music, education and global conservancy challenges. It features the acclaimed puppetry of Janni Younge and a piano & orchestral companion piece by Kathy Tagg depicting The South African Big 5 in the vein of Carnival of the Animals. The pianist is acclaimed pianist and conductor, Jeanne-Minette Cilliers.
