Backyard Theatre Company intends to develop and present new and under-produced plays that are ensemble-driven, actor-focused, and formally ambitious. We collaborate closely with early-career and independent artists in Chicago, emphasizing rigorous rehearsal, ethical production practices, and transparent communication. Our work is presented in intimate, flexible performance spaces, creating close connections between artists and the public while fostering engagement with innovative theatre.
