In 2025, Ballaro Dance moved across communities and landscapes, connecting people through powerful, sensory-based dance experiences:
+ We toured the Northeast to incredible cities like Washington, DC, Newtown, CT, and Rochester, NY, and across the greater regions of New Jersey and New York State. In every step we taught in our classes, every story we told in performance, and every shared connection we sparked in conversation, we embodied our mission centering collaboration and community.
+ Regionally, our summer residency in Rochester, NY -- Structures of Stability -- brought together local dancers and photographers to create a breathtaking site-specific, multidisciplinary performance that encapsulated what we do best: invite people to SEE, MOVE, & SHARE in meaningful, lasting ways. The theme centered both the literal and abstract investigations of What holds us up? as individuals, and as a unique part of a strong, supportive community.
+ Nationally, our film Descent screened in festivals in Michigan and Alaska proving that meaningful connection through art transcends distance to reach audiences across the miles.
+ Locally, we shared two repertory works: The Distance, produced at Green Space as part of Take Root, and Goddess, produced by Dance Bloc at Dixon Place with a new piano score by composer John Carroll. These fall performances invited us to reconnect with NYC audiences.
This Season, we didn't just perform — we created community, offered hope, and invited participation in a time when the world often feels disconnected and overwhelmed.
Now, we're looking ahead to our next Season — and we need you to get there.
We’re aiming to raise $2026 for 2026! Your support helps us continue to build inclusive spaces for people to connect through dance — to feel, heal, and create together.
Every dollar goes directly toward artist stipends, rehearsal space, production costs, and most importantly — growing the kind of dance that leaves a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
