Basement Theatrics is a collective of artists who celebrate the process of creating theatre in the rehearsal room. We honor the craft and the time it takes to develop substantive work—prioritizing experimentation and discovery. We believe that focusing on development allows artists to take risks, refine their voices, and build connections that nourish the entire community. Embracing collaboration across departments, generations, and cultures, we recognize that deep artistic work is strengthened by diverse voices and perspectives. We value resourcefulness, making theater with what’s available and discovering new possibilities within constraints. We believe that artists supporting artists support more artists, and that when work is met with passion and discipline, it has the power to challenge, inspire, and transform culture. We are supporting theatre from the ground up.
