I am an activist, artist and educator dedicated to using humor to heal the racial divide. Come laugh and learn with me.
BlackIssuesISSUES is working on a webseries and does interventions in communities of color while using Humor to Heal The Racial Divide.
Imagine if talking about race was entertaining and enlightening! BlackIssuesISSUES is a satire for solutions, using humor to heal the racial divide one laugh at a time. BlackIssuesISSUES is like In Living Color or an SNL sketch about race with a toolkit and audience interaction. Our goal is to have America talking about race and inequality to become fully aware of the problem and brainstorm solutions.
BlackIssuesISSUES is a live theatrical comedy show and also webseries for children and adults.
We all know how to laugh, now let's help me have people LAUGH and LEARN how to END RACISM!
BlackIssuesISSUES launched in 2018 off-broadway in 2018 at Are Nova to a SOLD OUT crowd of people eager to have fun while having uncomfortable conversations. Since then, we have performed at The Public Theater’s Joe’s Pub, Columbia University, The Schomburg, Black Gotham and more!
I love talking about race and using humor to heal the racial divide. Having uncomfortable conversations can be challenging, humor can access parts of humanity ranging from understanding to empathy, fact based rhetoric to end racism right now.
#BLACK2NORMAL is a webseries that polls viewers and people on the street about racial sentiments in a post #GeorgeFloyd world. Shot in NYC over the course of several months, viewers are taken on an odyssey through different regions of the Big Apple to take a bite out of #criticalracetheory.
The satirical character ReBLACKaForTheBLACKs☂️ (Senior Editor of BlackIssuesISSUES - a 400 page magazine filled with Black Issues and sometimes Solutions) hops on the train and crosses intersections of injustice by asking incisive questions during the #blacklivesmatter mural painting in Harlem, protests in front Barclays Center during the one year anniversary of #GeorgeFloyd’s untimely murder by rouge and indifferent Minneapolis police and also at Union Square’s huge statute tributes to #breonnataylor #GeorgeFloyd and #JohnLewis.
