About

BLiPSWiTCH's Artistic Statement.

OFFBEAT SERIES:
BLiPSWiTCH's Offbeat has brought over 150 multidisciplinary artists together. We celebrated our latest, Offbeat X (2021), with ten collaborations, two live bands, and five local Austin vendors— we donated a portion of our proceeds to SBP’s ongoing Hurricane Ida relief efforts.

DANCE CLASSES:
Open to the community (2018-present), BLiPSWiTCH proudly offers the most financially accessible weekly contemporary forms dance class in Austin.
In 2022, we brought NYC dance artists Hollis Bartlett and Nattie Trogdon to Austin to share their dance practices with the community in a week long site-specific workshop.

EVENING LENGTH WORKS:

3. Shoestring (2017)

BLiPSWiTCH has been hosted at Austin Dance Festival (2016 & 2021), San Antonio Dance Festival (2022), Wizard Rodeo (2022), Austin's Revolve: A Movement Display (2016-2019), Dislocate (Santa Barbara, CA, 2018), Ready/Set/Go!’s Dance Salon: Humoresque (2018), and First Street Studio Open House (2020). We have also created work in collaboration with photographer Frank Curry (Insecta, 2022) and filmmaker Maggie M. Bailey (Moving Together).

UPCOMING:
BLiPSWiTCH is currently working on our latest evening length work, A Hair Can Split the Difference, to premiere in March 2023. We have been invited as guest artists for Performa/Dance's June concert, for which we will develop a new piece, and we also plan to present our eleventh Offbeat and release a new dance film later in the year.
Keep up with our projects here.

We couldn't make the work we do without your support.
Thank you for your contributions.
