After more than 15 years of collaboration, Kevin V. Smith and Daiva Bhandari founded Blue in the Right Way in 2019 to make provocative, stylized theatre as visual art.
The company's debut work, WOMEN BEWARE WOMEN, engaged a team of over 40 artists and premiered at The Edge Theater in Chicago on April 29, 2024. In our queer deconstructionist adaptation, Thomas Middleton’s 1621 revenge tragedy was framed by lacerating and poetic original monologues delivered by two surreal transfemme narrators.
Blue in the Right Way's soon-to-be-announced next production will premiere in Summer 2025 at The Edge Theater in Chicago.
