Bones and Memory Dance is a project-based dance company in Houston, TX. Under the direction of Heather vonReichbauer, Bones and Memory Dance is committed to engaging audiences through unique storytelling. An avid reader, vonReichbauer is inspired by the written word and aims to weave literary and allegorical elements into a visual tapestry of movement and music, connecting the audience to the work on a physical and emotional level. vonReichbauer’s narrative approach to dance resonates in the BMD repertory.
Our repertory is accessible, theatrical, and authentic. We love a dark tale with current works about Lizzie Borden, Edgar Allan Poe, and a gothic tale inspired by Appalachian murder ballads. We strive to engage, inspire, and entertain combining vonReichbauer’s distinct gestural vocabulary with exciting storytelling. Bones and Memory Dance has performed in Mind the Gap, Barnstorm Dance Fest, 254 Dance-Fest, Society of Performing Arts Performance Prelude Series, and presented their first evening length show "Madness, Memories and Woe: A Fantastical Journey Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe".
